Introducing Dreamy, Patches, and Joy!

It’s been almost 2 weeks since we brought these girls home from New Mexico (where we met their owner for the transfer).  They’re settling in, hiding less, and getting used to our home.

This morning, I snapped some photos of the girls as they were enjoying their morning ramble.  They tend to come out in the evenings and morning to roam around, be petted, and then find hiding places to sleep most of the day.

Dreamy is a dilute calico and she’s lovely, with grey, white, and cream patches.  Each of these girls was shaved before they came to us, so we’re eager to see what their coats will look like when they grow out.

Edited March 2010 — Dreamy died from complications following an emergency c-section.  She will be missed.

Patches has been hanging out in the bathroom lately, and has claimed the toilet seat as her perch.  This makes it a little awkward at times.  She is a calico with red, black, and white patches.  And as usual, we captured the “flash made me blink” glare.   I’ll have to work to get a photo that shows her eyes open wide like Dreamy’s photo.

And finally, Joy is our seal point himilayan Persian.  She’s the most shy of the group, but affectionate.   This photo also gets the “flash made me blink glare” which does not fit their personalities.  They are all very sweet.

As I said, they’ve been shaved, so their coat isn’t as long as you’d expect from a Persian at the moment, but all 3 are registered Persians with the extreme flat-faced nose.

We’re excited and blessed to be adding them to our cattery!  We’re just waiting for Melody and Sweetie to share our joy in their arrival.   Sweetie has decided she’d rather hang out with Max than mingle with new cats, and Melody is adjusting although she still hisses occasionally.  Maybe once Melody’s kittens are sold, she’ll be more friendly.

All of the girls are due for baths and photo shoots, so I need to start working on my feline photography skills.
